Double Glazing in Perth That Works With Plantation Shutters

Specialist window replacement for Perth homes — designed so your new glass and your shutters work together.

Most double glazing in WA is built as if blinds and shutters do not exist. Over half of Perth’s double glazing companies do not offer systems that sit cleanly with plantation shutters. We do both. That means one team thinking about the window, the frame, the glass, and the shutter from the first measure.

Why replace your windows?

Perth heat, winter chill, traffic noise, and harsh sun all come through old single-glazed windows. New double or triple glazing can help with:

  • Heat control in summer

  • Warmth in winter

  • Traffic and neighbourhood noise

  • Sun and UV through west- and north-facing glass

  • Security and a tighter seal

  • A cleaner look if you also want shutters, screens, or new colours

You are not limited to one “standard” double-glazed unit. We offer more than 60 glass layups, plus triple glazing where noise, heat, or comfort needs it.

Why choose us for double glazing

We are a local Perth business. Our installers are qualified trades — carpenters, cabinet makers, and glaziers — not casual handymen.

  • Frames with 3 to 8 chambers — among the highest chamber counts available in WA

  • Three frame systems so you can match budget, look, and performance

  • Glass specified for heat, cold, noise, sun, or security — not a one-size unit

  • Dual colour: one colour inside, another outside

  • Window layouts planned with how you actually use each room

  • Double glazing chosen so plantation shutters can be fitted properly later (or at the same time)

Note on performance: a well-specified double-glazed unit can outperform the thermal performance of many double-brick walls in WA, depending on the glass and frame. We confirm U-values on your quote for the exact specification.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to replace the whole window?
Most projects are a full frame and glass replacement so the new unit seals and performs properly. We confirm this on site.

Can I get shutters on the new windows?
Yes. That is a large part of why this service exists. We specify frames and reveals so plantation shutters can be fitted cleanly.

Do you do triple glazing?
Yes, where noise, heat, or comfort needs the extra pane.

How long until I get a quote?
Drawings and pricing are emailed within 48 hours of the consultation.

Do you service only Perth?
We service Perth and the wider WA area. Include your suburb on the form so we can confirm.

Is there a hard sell?
No. We explain the options and leave you to decide.

Three frame options

We offer three frame types. The right one depends on budget, street look, and how hard you want the window to work on energy.

1. Aluminium — non-thermally broken
Standard aluminium frames. Strong, slim, and usually the most budget-friendly.
Typical U-value range: 2.1 – 5.5 (varies with glass).
Best if: you want a clean modern look at a lower cost.

2. Aluminium — thermally broken
A thermal break in the frame cuts heat transfer through the metal. Better comfort than standard aluminium, still a slim, strong profile.
Typical U-value range: confirm on quote for your glass spec.
Best if: you want aluminium strength with better insulation.

3. uPVC
Excellent insulation, low maintenance, and usually the strongest energy result of the three.
Typical U-value range: 1.3 – 4.0 (varies with glass).
Best if: energy efficiency and comfort are the priority.

Quick pick

  • Best energy efficiency: uPVC

  • Best balance of strength and performance: thermally broken aluminium

  • Most budget-friendly: non-thermally broken aluminium

Please treat the U-value bands as a guide. The glass layup changes the number as much as the frame does. We will put the exact figures on your quote.

Our colour Range.

Colours

You are not stuck with white.

Choose a colour across all three ranges. You can also run a different colour inside and outside — for example white inside to match the rooms, and grey, black, or a timber look outside for street appeal.
