This booklet sets out the warranty terms for products supplied by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters. Each section applies only to the product named in that section. Please retain this document with your original invoice.
Warranties commence from the date of installation. Hardware warranties apply to operating components such as hinges, tilt mechanisms, cords, chains, wands, tracks, rollers, brackets and similar fittings, unless otherwise stated.
Warranty Periods at a Glance

• Sheers, Curtains, Veri Shades and Soft Fabrics — 5 years on fabrics; 2 years on hardware
• Roman Blinds — 5 years on fabrics; 2 years on hardware

Fauxwood Designer Shutter Warranty
Fauxwood is also commonly referred to as PVC — internal plantation shutters
20 Year Warranty on Fauxwood Designer Shutter Frames and Shutter Panels
The Fauxwood Designer Shutter frames and panels are warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material that may result in peeling, blistering, flaking or corroding for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty.
2 Year Warranty on Fauxwood Shutter Hardware
The hardware supplied with the Fauxwood Shutters is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
No person is authorised by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to give any further warranty, representation or to assume any further obligation with regards to the product.
This Warranty is not transferable and is only available to the original owner named on the invoice.
The direct customer must have an active account or the goods must have been paid for in full.
Product Use
This warranty applies only to Fauxwood Shutters that are installed internally in Australia or New Zealand and are used only for the purpose to which they were intended.
Fauxwood Designer Shutters are intended to provide light control only. They are not intended nor guaranteed to provide ‘block out’ conditions when closed. Varying levels of light infiltration between louvres, panels and frames may occur.
Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.
Replacement of Parts or Repairs
Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to change the design or discontinue any component. If an exact replacement part is not available then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to substitute, at its sole discretion, a part of equal quality.
Exclusions from this Warranty
The following are excluded from coverage under this Warranty:
• Normal wear and tear deemed to be acceptable, at the sole discretion of Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters, over the course of the warranty period.
• Any damage, defect, malfunction or failure to perform resulting from unreasonable or improper use, or failure to carry out reasonable or necessary maintenance.
• Products which have not been maintained in accordance with the Cleaning and Care instructions outlined in this Warranty.
• Exposure to air pollutants and climatic conditions that may cause surfaces to gradually experience a build-up of surface dirt or stains. These are normal occurrences and are not covered under this Warranty.
• Any damage caused by settlement or structural defects of the building in which the product is installed.
• Any damage caused by, but not limited to, animals, fire, snow, hail, rain, water, wind, storm, flood, lightning or acts of God, intentional acts, accidents, negligence, exposure to harmful pollutants or chemicals or other combined events.
• Damage caused by improper handling, assembly or installation.
• Imperfections such as, but not limited to, spots or marks which are not visible to the naked eye in natural daylight from a distance of at least one metre.
• Any product that has been tampered with, modified or repaired by any unauthorised person (including unauthorised alterations).
• Any product that has been ordered outside normal recommendations and specifications is not warranted. This includes oversized panels or products manufactured without recommended reinforcements.
• Oversized panels and shutters manufactured without a mid rail or aluminium inserts when recommended.
Procedure and Conditions of a Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim the original owner must notify the retailer, who in turn will notify Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters, in writing within thirty (30) days of first noticing the defect.
Any production defects such as chips, scratches and dents must be claimed within thirty (30) days of receipt of goods.
Written confirmation must include the following:
• Proof of purchase, including the original invoice
• Date of installation
• A brief description of the defect, including supporting photographs
On receipt of the written confirmation Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters will determine whether the defect is covered by the Warranty. If the defect is covered by the Warranty, the product will be repaired or replaced at the sole discretion of Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters.
If the defect is not covered by the Warranty, then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters will inform the retailer, who will then need to advise the original owner of the options and costs related to the defect. Any replacement parts will be charged to the retailer.
Cleaning and Care
The surfaces of the Fauxwood Shutters will collect a layer of dust over time. Normal and regular dusting with a soft damp cloth will remove this build up.
If further cleaning is required then wash with mild soap (mild household dishwashing liquid), water and a soft cloth. Ensure the surfaces are then dried off with a soft cloth.
For stubborn dirt and stains use a mild, water-based household cleaner only.
CAUTION: Never use harsh cloths, harsh abrasives, chlorine or ammonia based chemicals or cleaners on the Fauxwood Shutter surfaces as they may affect the surface appearance and longevity.
PVC Venetian Blinds Warranty
Also commonly referred to as vinyl or fauxwood Venetian blinds
5 Year Warranty on PVC Venetian Blind Slats, Headrail and Bottom Rail
The slats, headrail and bottom rail of PVC Venetian Blinds are warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material that may result in peeling, blistering, flaking, warping or cracking for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty.
2 Year Warranty on PVC Venetian Blind Hardware
The hardware supplied with PVC Venetian Blinds (including tilt mechanisms, cords, ladders, wands, brackets and related fittings) is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.
Replacement of Parts or Repairs
Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to change the design or discontinue any component. If an exact replacement part is not available then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to substitute, at its sole discretion, a part of equal quality.

• Damage caused by improper handling, assembly or installation.
• Imperfections such as, but not limited to, spots or marks which are not visible to the naked eye in natural daylight from a distance of at least one metre.
• Any product that has been tampered with, modified or repaired by any unauthorised person (including unauthorised alterations).
• Any product that has been ordered outside normal recommendations and specifications is not warranted. This includes oversized panels or products manufactured without recommended reinforcements.
• Bent, creased or misshapen slats caused by impact, children, pets or forcing the blind when slats are not correctly aligned.
• Frayed, tangled or broken lift cords and ladders resulting from improper operation or excessive force.
Procedure and Conditions of a Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim the original owner must notify the retailer, who in turn will notify Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters, in writing within thirty (30) days of first noticing the defect.
Any production defects such as chips, scratches and dents must be claimed within thirty (30) days of receipt of goods.
Written confirmation must include the following:

• Date of installation
• A brief description of the defect, including supporting photographs

If the defect is not covered by the Warranty, then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters will inform the retailer, who will then need to advise the original owner of the options and costs related to the defect. Any replacement parts will be charged to the retailer.
Cleaning and Care
The surfaces of PVC Venetian Blinds will collect a layer of dust over time. Regular dusting with a soft cloth, microfibre duster or vacuum brush attachment will remove this build-up. Work from the top down with slats tilted open to reach both faces.
If further cleaning is required, wipe slats with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap (mild household dishwashing liquid) and warm water. Wipe with a clean damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth to avoid water marks.
For stubborn dirt and stains use a mild, water-based household cleaner only. Allow the blinds to dry fully before closing.
CAUTION: Never use harsh cloths, harsh abrasives, chlorine or ammonia based chemicals or cleaners on PVC Venetian Blind surfaces as they may affect the surface appearance and longevity. Do not soak slats for prolonged periods or place them in a washing machine.
Outdoor Aluminium Shutters Warranty
Exterior aluminium plantation-style shutters
10 Year Warranty on Outdoor Aluminium Shutter Frames and Panels
The frames, panels and louvres of Outdoor Aluminium Shutters are warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material and workmanship that may result in structural failure, peeling, blistering, flaking or corroding of the powder-coated finish for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty. Coastal, marine and high-pollution locations require more frequent cleaning to maintain cover.
2 Year Warranty on Outdoor Aluminium Shutter Hardware
The hardware supplied with Outdoor Aluminium Shutters (including hinges, louvre pins, operating mechanisms, fasteners and related fittings) is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
No person is authorised by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to give any further warranty, representation or to assume any further obligation with regards to the product.

Product Use
This warranty applies only to Outdoor Aluminium Shutters that are installed in Australia or New Zealand and are used only for the purpose to which they were intended.
Outdoor Aluminium Shutters are intended to provide light control, privacy and weather protection as specified at the time of order. They are not intended nor guaranteed to provide complete waterproofing or ‘block out’ conditions when closed. Varying levels of light and weather infiltration between louvres, panels and frames may occur.
Shutters installed in coastal or marine environments (generally within approximately 5 km of breaking surf, or as otherwise advised) require additional maintenance. Failure to clean salt and pollutant deposits regularly may void finish cover.
Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.
Replacement of Parts or Repairs
Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to change the design or discontinue any component. If an exact replacement part is not available then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to substitute, at its sole discretion, a part of equal quality.

• Gradual fading, chalking or loss of gloss of powder-coated surfaces due to UV exposure and weathering. These are normal occurrences.
• Corrosion or finish deterioration caused by salt spray, industrial fallout or failure to wash the product at the recommended frequency.
• Damage from high winds, flying debris or use of the shutters outside their specified design limits.
• Pressure washing at close range or with excessive pressure, which may damage the finish and seals.
Procedure and Conditions of a Warranty Claim

Cleaning and Care
Wash Outdoor Aluminium Shutters regularly with clean water and a mild household detergent using a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush. In suburban locations clean at least every six months. In coastal, marine or industrial locations clean every one to three months, or more often after storms.
Rinse thoroughly with fresh water to remove detergent and salt residue. Dry accessible surfaces with a soft cloth where practical.
Check hinges and moving parts periodically. Do not apply grease or heavy lubricants that attract grit unless specifically recommended in writing.
CAUTION: Never use harsh cloths, steel wool, harsh abrasives, chlorine, solvents or ammonia based chemicals. Do not use high-pressure washers close to the surface, seals or hardware. Never use pool chemicals or acidic cleaners on powder-coated aluminium.
Basswood Plantation Shutters Warranty
Solid timber (basswood) plantation shutters for internal use
5 Year Warranty on Basswood Shutter Frames and Shutter Panels
The frames and panels of Basswood Plantation Shutters are warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material and workmanship that may result in peeling, blistering or flaking of the factory finish, or structural failure under normal internal conditions, for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty.
2 Year Warranty on Basswood Shutter Hardware
The hardware supplied with Basswood Plantation Shutters is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Product Use
This warranty applies only to Basswood Plantation Shutters that are installed internally in Australia or New Zealand and are used only for the purpose to which they were intended.
Basswood is a natural timber product. Variation in grain, colour and character is inherent and is not a defect. Timber will continue to respond to changes in humidity and temperature. Minor movement is expected and is not covered.
Basswood Plantation Shutters are intended to provide light control only. They are not intended nor guaranteed to provide ‘block out’ conditions when closed. Varying levels of light infiltration between louvres, panels and frames may occur.
Basswood shutters are not recommended for wet areas such as bathrooms, laundries or unsealed windows subject to condensation or rain ingress, unless specifically agreed in writing at the time of order.
Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.

• Natural variation in timber grain, colour or character, and minor movement, expansion, contraction or slight warping consistent with a natural wood product.
• Fading, darkening or colour change of stained or painted timber due to sunlight and ageing.
• Damage from moisture, steam, condensation, leaking windows or installation in wet areas not approved in writing.
Procedure and Conditions of a Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim the original owner must notify the retailer, who in turn will notify Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters, in writing within thirty (30) days of first noticing the defect.

Cleaning and Care
Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, microfibre duster or vacuum brush. Rotate louvres periodically so any natural ageing occurs more evenly.
For light marks, wipe with a barely damp soft cloth and dry immediately with a second soft cloth. Use only a very small amount of mild soap if required.
A quality furniture polish may be used sparingly on painted or sealed surfaces. Test in an inconspicuous area first and avoid shiny patches.
CAUTION: Never soak timber, spray water directly onto louvres, or use harsh cloths, abrasives, silicone sprays, chlorine or ammonia based chemicals. Excess moisture can cause swelling, staining or finish failure and will void this Warranty.
Roller Blinds Warranty
Internal roller blinds — fabric and operating system
5 Year Warranty on Roller Blind Fabric
The fabric of Roller Blinds is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material and workmanship, including premature failure of the fabric under normal internal use, for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty.
2 Year Warranty on Roller Blind Hardware
The hardware supplied with Roller Blinds (including rollers, clutches, chains, wands, brackets, bottom bars and related fittings) is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Roller Blinds are intended to provide light control and privacy according to the fabric specified. They are not intended nor guaranteed to provide complete ‘block out’ unless a blockout fabric was specified and installed. Light gaps at the sides, top and bottom are normal.
Some fabric wavering, cupping or tracking is expected to varying degrees depending on fabric type, width and drop, and is not a defect.
Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.

• Any damage caused by, but not limited to, animals, fire, snow, hail, rain, water, wind, storm, flood, lightning or acts of God, intentional acts, accidents, negligence, exposure to harmful pollutants or chemicals or other combined events.

• Imperfections such as, but not limited to, spots or marks which are not visible to the naked eye in natural daylight from a distance of at least one metre.
• Any product that has been tampered with, modified or repaired by any unauthorised person (including unauthorised alterations).
• Any product that has been ordered outside normal recommendations and specifications is not warranted. This includes oversized panels or products manufactured without recommended reinforcements.
• Fabric wavering, cupping, billowing or tracking that is consistent with the properties of the nominated fabric.
• Frayed edges, creasing or tracking caused by windows or doors being left open, wind, or failure to guide the blind on first operation.
• Fading or colour change from prolonged direct sunlight, which occurs to some degree with all textiles.
• Damage from over-rolling, removal of chain stops or child-safety devices, or operation against obstructions.
Procedure and Conditions of a Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim the original owner must notify the retailer, who in turn will notify Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters, in writing within thirty (30) days of first noticing the defect.
Any production defects such as chips, scratches and dents must be claimed within thirty (30) days of receipt of goods.
Written confirmation must include the following:
• Proof of purchase, including the original invoice
• Date of installation
• A brief description of the defect, including supporting photographs
On receipt of the written confirmation Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters will determine whether the defect is covered by the Warranty. If the defect is covered by the Warranty, the product will be repaired or replaced at the sole discretion of Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters.
If the defect is not covered by the Warranty, then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters will inform the retailer, who will then need to advise the original owner of the options and costs related to the defect. Any replacement parts will be charged to the retailer.
Cleaning and Care
Dust regularly with a soft brush, feather duster or vacuum upholstery attachment on low suction.
Spot clean with a clean, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not saturate the fabric. Allow the blind to dry completely while fully lowered before rolling up.
Operate the blind fully up and down periodically so the fabric rolls evenly. After installation, guide the bottom bar on the first few cycles to help the fabric track true.
CAUTION: Never use harsh abrasives, solvents, bleach, or steam cleaners unless the fabric care label expressly permits it. Never roll the blind up while wet. Do not leave fabric blinds down in front of open windows where wind can suck fabric against glass and crease it.
Sheers, Curtains, Veri Shades and Soft Fabrics Warranty
Drapery, sheers, Veri Shades and other soft furnishing fabrics
5 Year Warranty on Fabrics
The fabrics used in Sheers, Curtains, Veri Shades and other soft furnishings supplied by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.
This Warranty shall only remain in effect if normal cleaning practices are followed. Please refer to the Cleaning and Care section of this warranty.
2 Year Warranty on Hardware
The hardware supplied with these products (including tracks, rods, carriers, hooks, wands, operating systems and related fittings) is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.
General Conditions
The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
No person is authorised by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to give any further warranty, representation or to assume any further obligation with regards to the product.
This Warranty is not transferable and is only available to the original owner named on the invoice.
The direct customer must have an active account or the goods must have been paid for in full.

Soft fabrics are intended to provide light control, privacy and decoration according to the fabric specified. They are not intended nor guaranteed to provide complete ‘block out’ unless a suitable lining was specified and installed.
Slight shade, texture and pattern variation between batches and between sample and finished goods is inherent in textiles and is not a defect.
Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited only to repair or replace, at its sole discretion, supplied product materials. Under no circumstances will Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters be liable for any incidental or consequential charges, such as, but not limited to, inconvenience, labour costs (of any kind), penalties, injury or damage to persons or to property, or any other expense.
Replacement of Parts or Repairs
Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to change the design or discontinue any component. If an exact replacement part is not available then Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters reserves the right to substitute, at its sole discretion, a part of equal quality.

• Damage from incorrect cleaning methods, dry-cleaning solvents not recommended for the fabric, or machine washing where hand care is specified.

Cleaning and Care
Vacuum gently with an upholstery attachment. Dust sheers and light fabrics regularly.
Follow the care label for the specific fabric. Many sheers and unlined curtains may be gently hand washed or professionally cleaned. Remove hooks, rings and trims before cleaning where instructed.
Do not rub, wring or bleach. Dry in the shade. Hang by hooks where recommended so the fabric drops out evenly. Iron on the reverse on a suitable setting if the care label allows.
For Veri Shades and similar hybrid products, dust vanes and sheer sections separately. Spot clean only unless the manufacturer care label states otherwise.
CAUTION: Never use harsh chemicals, bleach or high heat unless expressly permitted by the fabric care label. Incorrect cleaning is the most common cause of fabric failure and is excluded from this Warranty.
Roman Blinds Warranty
Internal Roman blinds — fabric and operating system
5 Year Warranty on Roman Blind Fabrics
The fabric of Roman Blinds is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation.

The hardware supplied with Roman Blinds (including headrails, cords, chains, rods, rings, battens and related fittings) is warranted by Perth’s Boutique Plantation Shutters to remain in good operational condition for a period of two (2) years from the date of installation.

The Warranty detailed in this document is the only warranty applicable to the product named in this section and excludes all other implied or expressed warranties, except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
